Fire danger diminishing tonight with smore smoke chances arriving tomorrow. A bigger pattern change is on the way for the end of the work week with a chance for showers in the valley.

Red Flag Warning in effect through 8pm tonight. Gusts in parts of the valley have reached 30mph earlier today. The winds are on their way down this evening. Dry air is still around, making fire starts rather easy with the dry fuels. Humidity levels are just above 10% for most of the valley. Air quality has greatly improved during the day compared to yesterday with some areas sitting in the good to moderate category.

Fire danger will continue to decline this evening as the winds calm down. This won't stop another injection of smoke from occurring this evening. Another smoky night is in store for parts of the valley. This means another night of keeping the windows closed overnight. The smoke/haze will stick around tomorrow, although not to the extent as Tuesday evening for everybody. The worst air quality will be hit and miss. Temperatures cool off by a few degrees with most places topping off in the low 90s. Clouds start to move in Thursday afternoon. An isolated shower in the coastal mountains and Sierra/Cascades cannot be ruled out, but this will be the exception rather than the rule. For the valley we will see a partly cloudy sky at times with some high clouds around. Temperatures take a hit on Friday, falling into the 70s for the valley. Clouds will be more prominent in the valley with a chance for some showers. Most of the shower activity will stay in the mountains, but some may meander in to the valley. A thunderstorm or two also cannot be ruled out. Rain totals in the valley will be around 2 tenths of an inch, if any rain does fall. If any thunderstorms develop, isolated pockets of close to 1 inch will be possible. The mountain areas could see more rain as the air is lifted up and over the mountain tops. A Flash Flood Watch will begin Friday for the River Complex Burn Scar. The shower chances in the mountains remain Saturday, drying out for the rest of Labor Day Weekend. Temperatures Saturday stick to the upper 70s with the resto f the weekend and early next week gradually increasing to the low 90s. A very nice Labor Day Weekend is in store!
